Bachelors Lodge Equestrian Centre is a Member of the Association of Irish Riding
Establishments (AIRE). A Member of the AIRE Committee inspected our facilities
and found them excellent in both Safety and Quality of Riding Instruction.
HOURS OF BUSINESS:
Open Tuesday – Saturday from 8am - 8pm.
BEGINNER LESSONS:
Beginners are started on a lead rein and have someone leading their horse until the
instructor deems the rider capable enough to ride safely unaccompanied.
GROUP LESSONS:
Most lessons at Bachelors Lodge take place in a group. We find this to be more fun for the
rider. We try to limit our maximum group size to 8 riders. However, private individual lessons
are available and some riders prefer a more one on one style of tuition with their instructor.
BLOCK BOOKINGS:
Lessons can be booked in blocks of 10, which includes 1 free lesson.
So basically, you get 10 lessons for the price of 9.
RIDING ATTIRE:
All Riders must be properly attired. We can provide boots and riding hats for beginners but
we encourage people to buy their own equipment if they are taking regular lessons at Bachelors Lodge
- Riding Helmet up to Current Safety Standards (can be supplied for Beginners and first few group lessons).
- Riding Boots (No Runners, Laced Shoes or Work Boots) – can be supplied for Beginners)
- Jodhpurs (recommended), Tracksuit pants, Leggings. (No Shorts allowed)
- Gloves & Back Protector (Optional but recommended)
- Riding Crop (can be supplied for Beginners)
CROSS COUNTRY:
Bachelors Lodge Equestrian Centre has an excellent cross country course consisting of drops, ditches, coffins, ski jumps,
steps, logs, steeplechases, water jump, accuracy fences and arrowheads.Bachelors Lodge has played host to several
Hunter Trial competitions and the course provides an excellent
training ground for young or inexperienced horses.
The cross country course is available to hire. It is necessary to book the course in advance for schooling.
CANCELLATIONS:
We would appreciate 24 hours notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Bachelors Lodge
Equestrian Centre is very popular and we are often booked out. Notifying us of your cancellation
enables us to give another rider a chance to enjoy riding.
